Washington’s Crossing:
The Rest of the Story

Sunday, November 11th, 2018, 12:30-2:30PM
UNION FIRE COMPANY & RESCUE SQUAD, 1396 RIVER ROAD, TITUSVILLE, NJ 08560

The world-renowned painting — Washington’s Crossing Christmas 1776 by Emanuel Leutze — could not have done better at capturing the spirit of 1776. BUT, how did the cannons, horses, and wagons get across the Delaware on that fateful night?

Come join your neighbors to hear the answer! We’ll also examine the value and limitations of paintings in understanding history, and we’ll discuss the operation of river ferries.

A framed print of a Swan Historical Foundation painting by Lloyd Garrison (see below) will be on display and given away to one lucky ticket holder! That painting, together with the famous Leutze painting, brings the whole Crossing story to life — making you even prouder of our first American Army veterans.

Seating is limited. Entrance fee includes refreshments and the aforementioned chance to win.

This event is FREE to WCPA Members. Otherwise, $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Scroll down to register.
