Washington Crossing Riverbank Cleanup: Help NJ and PA prepare for America’s 250th!
August 24, 10am-1pm
Recent storms and flooding have brought trash and piles of brush to General Washington’s Embarkation and Landing sites along the Delaware River, and to the island between them where Washington may have concealed boats before his history-changing trip.
As our area prepares for 2026 and the country’s 250th anniversary, Washington Crossing Historic Park in PA and Washington Crossing State Park in NJ are working hard to prepare for the hundreds of thousands of visitors expected to our shores. We invite you to join us in the important work of getting these nationally-known historic sites ready for their close ups!
This event is rain or shine, and will only be cancelled in the case of severe weather. We’ll supply bug spray, but you’ll have to be on the lookout for poison ivy and slippery rocks, not to mention variable water levels and river currents. That’s what makes it FUN!
